SKD keeps cool guy stuff coming with their PIG line, this time some smooth operator gloves. With a lot of carbon fiber punch-the-wall kind of stuff out there, SKD went the other direction to a streamlined shooter's glove. Developed by a Rogers Shooting School “Advanced” graduate with over a decade of experience in instructing Military and Law Enforcement personnel, they started from the ground up rather than altering existing designs and it shows. The protection is there to keep the wearer's hands protected during firearm manipulation while being overall very slim and flexible to not hinder usage either. A classic example is a heavy padded palm zone may be great for giving bad guys a kung-fu palm strike, however will greatly affected the grip feel on a pistol. The PIG FDT-Alpha Gloves do not suffer from this issue.

Mechanix M-Pact Glove

I wanted to try these out as some shooter gloves that wouldn't blow the budget. They are similar to the original mechanix gloves with added external rubber sections to assist in top of the hand impact protection.

5.11-TACTICAL Tac-A Glove

A medium weight glove, these are more padded than most of the shooter gloves I have used. They aren't very tactile due to the padding, however the padding makes them more comfy for hard contact applications. A free silver caraibineer comes with the packaging to assist with connecting gloves to yourself when not in use. On that note the pull tabs work great for assisting in putting the gloves on and also for having a connection point. They work pretty well for rifles, however when using pistols the thumb seam is unfortunately where I press the mag release making it more difficult.
